Not necessarily; you can switch to fullscreen (and thereby remove the ad), but it still does the same.

A long time ago, I -- alongside many others -- would experience that in the beginning of a clan arena match, the guns would appear jammed and require a few clicks to respond. It was fixed back then...

I would have thought that it would have been preferable over -- and more effective than -- the current setup with the overlay and double connect.
