so either you did not understand the concept or have a config that does not suit you.

try to reset all settings to default on the game settings page of the website, not ingame. then delete qzconfig.cfg/repconfig but keep your autoexec.cfg inplace.

Well, the strange thing is, that making a/the file readonly does not prevent it from getting deleted. Copying the file does only work if the plugin already was started, otherwise it gets deleted on...
You seem not to know what you are talking about. I am using different linux distros for like 15 years now. making that baseq3 directory (containing the .pk3's) READONLY isn't scary at all neither is...
ok, I've got it!
just make the containing folder (baseq3) read only (chmod a-w baseq3) and the file will persist. just remember to make it writeable for updates again.

did you try chmod a-w on the file?
