Yes, it is.
USB is still "preferred."
I've played a ton of Quake and haven't seen any funky characters in names. It won't let you use them.
The rates, packets, etc. are already "optimized" by default. Everything else is just preference.
Players don't play Quake Live all day because even at the highest level there is little money to be won and little ad-money to be made from viewers.
I was in a CA game with 8 players and the rating was 100 (so at least 4 players must have been at 100)... It's more common than you might think. I'd estimate that a third of all tier 4 players are...
I'd be LightMapped.
I also have the award and never played 6 hours in 1 day (surprisingly).
There are too many variables to be impressed by a screenshot:
1. Who you're playing with/against.
2. Game mode (Instagib isn't a legitimate form of gameplay any more-so than single player)
The whole web-browser thing is just a gimmick.
Being "in" another web page would just be another gimmick, not that there's anything wrong with gimmicks.
That's an issue because that...

Cobalt Station -> Silly
Courtyard -> Good map...
I'd like higher quality textures. Not to try to make QL more "realistic" or "lifelike" but just for more viewing pleasure.
Not bad but I think Quake is worthy of a completely original theme song.
If you mean turn demos into avi, load up the demo in Wolfcam and type /video avi name "video-name" in the console. The recording process will appear to be slow-mo and with no sound, but when it's...
An MSPAINT vertical flip of the 'L' in "Quake Live" reveals how easily it could become an 'F'!
Now, it just needs some minor italics justification and re-gradiant-ing and it would be perfect.
There are a bunch of issues with tiers in general, but if you play a few of the devpicks (they are unrestricted/ no tiers) you will see how useful tiers are, even though they are far from perfect.
Well that's interesting.
I guess an alternate answer to the OP is that it was a Tier 4 game to begin with and a bunch of Tier 3's joined? I know I'm Tier 4 and sometimes the skillrating on the CA...
