I've been checking out a few matches of mine on QLranks, and in one of them I got +38 elo being part of the losing team, having only played the last 2:30 mins...

I guess that makes it 'the dinosaur and the egg idea'.

Your ingame sound has probably been set set to 0 as a result of the bug.
I have had that too a couple of times.
You can change that in the soundoptions.

And with just using shotgun?
