Routing issue to Frankfurt.

This has gone on for way too long. The recent upgrade we got on our connection speed didn't fix the issue. Back in 2010 I pinged around 35 to Frankfurt. Today I ping 80. Is there anything that can be done about this?

I can confirm this, and im not the only one.

I used to be solidly on 35ping on all german servers.[ wifi net, 100mb/s down and 10mb/s up.]

After this latest update, im having an avg 65-70 on almost all servers in quakelive. I have not changed any settings at all.
This issue caused me to lose lots of wars and duells. I hope it gets resolved soon.

try join other de servers and agree most of them are mad with pings... with several pickup players complaining too :(

This has been going on for well over a year. If any of the servers worked for me I would know.

Not a year, but i remember since the pp13 update! I am sure they changed the server providers!
Because the response from the server, and almost 90% of servers give me 60+ ping and avg at 71 ping.

It sucks, specially in iFT mod where the countdown is very important. The announcer barely completes his sentence and im already dead.
Many have problems with DE servers and NL :)

imho routing changed for most players that plays at Frankfurt and Amsterdam servers. i ask some of them (from different countries) and they said that ping changed.
tracert shows that route to Amsterdam server going through i3d.net(game server provider where Germany and Netherlands quakelive server hosts) router that located in Germany and ofc ping increased.
I wrote ticket to i3d.net. Let's wait for answer.

cat check your tracert to 194.68.128.206 (5th hop) - that could show you where the problem is

I have had this de ping issue since QLPP12 update (the beginning of may), when we got new gametypes. I don't say it's horrible to play at the moment, but atleast it's bit annoying to know that my ping to Frankfurt could be better, not much but still... I used to have 50 ping on de servers and now i have 57-61, though my nl ping remained unchanged. In fact, my nl ping (60-62) usually feels much better than de, even when the lagometer doesn't show any signs of lags. That wasn't the case at all before the ping change on de servers, quite the opposite i would say... :(

For me it's practically unplayable because of the skill level of the people I usually play with. Shuffling in a sr 400+ server when I have a sr of close to 800 and can't hit anything because of ping makes me the weak link of my team, since I'm not carrying my relative weight. In Stockholm servers with similarly skilled players I don't have that problem, since I can actually play at the level the server thinks I'm at. Problem is, most of my favourite people to play with play on Frankfurt.
